WHY WOMEN SHOULD LIFT WEIGHTS FOR FAT LOSS

When women think of weight loss, they think diet and cardio.

They stay away from the weights area, as it will "make them bulky".

This couldn't be further from the truth.

Lifting weights has one obvious pro:

it burns a lot of calories!

It’s quite possible that weight training burns more calories than your average cardio session, especially if you do big compound exercises like squats, lunges, presses and deadlifts.

Nutrition is the most important element for fat loss - fact.

That's because even if you have the perfect training programme, you won't lose a pound if you're not in a calorie deficit.

If you want to lose body fat and change your body shape, you need to start lifting weights.

So with a combination of a will-to-succeed-attitude, good nutrition principles, regular cardio and weight-training workouts, you will drop body-fat and change your shape for the long-term.

Ladies, if you want to “tone” your body, you need to get into lifting weights. You will not become bulky or manly - (This is a myth!) simply because you do not produce enough testosterone.

The result of lifting weights (with a great nutrition programme) is a firm, tight, fit body that you will love.

You will maintain lean muscle mass, which will make you look and feel leaner and fitter, where cardio alone will leave you feeling a little 'soft' and untoned.

You will also become much stronger, which is also important, as we get older, for functional living.

You will have more confidence in yourself and your body.

Don’t be afraid of the weights.

You will see and feel so many more benefits than just doing cardio sessions – I promise you.

All of my female clients lift weights. They have that great sense of achievement when they lift more than they ever thought possible.

We will be filming some great weight-bearing exercises over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for those.

If you have any specific exercises you’d like us to show you, drop us a message and we add it to the list.
