FAILING VS FAILURE
Have you ever seen a child trying to learn to walk? They try to get up, they fall down. They get back up, they fall down. They repeat this over and over again until they finally take their first steps.
We have all done it!
We will all encounter with failing at something during our lives - Usually more than once
Relate this to trying to lose fat, lead a healthier lifestyle or get in shape.
You’ve tried “every diet” and you just can’t lose weight and you just simply give up
When did you see that child just give up learning to walk?
My son, Leo is walking everywhere now. Imagine he just thought about giving up? Or we gave up trying to encourage him to walk?
We wouldn’t, right?
So, why do we simply give up on our fat loss and health goals so easily?
Are we failing? Or are we a failure?
There's a big difference
FAILING is part of the process of anything you want to achieve (fat loss, learn to drive, learn a new language)
FAILING helps with experience. You will learn from your mistakes - For example, learning more self discipline for portion control
FAILING gives you feedback. What is working and what is not working
FAILING helps you grow. We all need to grow in some areas of our lives
FAILING helps you learn more. We all need to learn more about our strengths and weaknesses and work on those weaknesses, so we can become better, stronger human beings
___________
FAILURE is giving up. I can’t do it. I’m not good enough, I just can’t lose weight. I don’t have motivation. You just give up.
FAILURE is accepting defeat. You are constantly telling yourself that you aren’t good enough. You don’t deserve to be fitter, slimmer, or healthier. This is total rubbish! You must get out of your own head and look at the bigger picture.
FAILURE is having a negative mindset. Life is tough. But, if we have a negative mindset it’s a lot tougher. We choose happiness. There are so many things to be grateful for in our lives. We just need to make sure we are aware of them.
FAILURE doesn’t help you grow. We have to accept that any new process (new fitness regime/diet) isn’t going to be a perfect process. Life happens, but we must grow from our experiences and grow from them
FAILURE doesn’t teach you anything. You accept defeat and lead a mediocre life when you are really not happy with it deep down.
We just accept an average “me” and then complain about it all of the time ( I’m over-weight, I’m so unfit, I hate my job…) But we change NOTHING! We have to learn to get out of this mindset and change our mindset and our lives.
We know that our why’s and our reasons must out weigh our excuses to progress in any part of our lives.
Is it going to go smoothly? Hell no. Habits come and go. Motivation comes and goes.
But it’s so important to understand that this is OK and there is a difference between FAILING and FAILURE.
